Pilates

Experience the holistic benefits of Pilates and Reformer Pilates at our Quay Street Physiotherapy studio. Pilates, born in the 1920s as a rehabilitative tool, has evolved into a versatile fitness regimen. Our traditional Pilates sessions emphasise low-impact exercises, focusing on strength, endurance, and flexibility, all while prioritising technique, posture, core strength, controlled movements, and synchronised breathing.

Choose between mat-based exercises or the integration of specialised equipment like the reformer, ensuring a personalised fitness experience that delivers results. Reformer Pilates, more dynamic than mat-based Pilates, offers a broader exercise repertoire, targeting multiple body areas beyond just the core. It’s ideal for post-injury or post-surgery rehabilitation and supports expectant mothers through their second and third trimesters.

Our Reformer, a bed-like machine with adjustable springs, provides various resistance levels and a solid support base. Under the guidance of our experienced physiotherapists and Reformer Pilates instructors, you’ll safely and effectively harness the machine’s capabilities, tailoring exercises to your unique needs.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialised form of therapy for patients with dizziness, vertigo, imbalance problems and gaze instability. Treatment may consist of manoeuvres or an exercise-based program specially designed by our expert Physiotherapists.

Evidence has shown that vestibular rehabilitation can be effective in improving symptoms related to many vestibular disorders. People with vestibular disorders often experience problems with vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance, and/or imbalance.

If you’re experiencing any of the above problems, vestibular rehabilitation at Quay Street Physiotherapy may be the solution.

Acupuncture

Experience the benefits of Acupuncture and Dry Needling at Quay Street Physiotherapy.

Using elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, our skilled practitioners use Western acupuncture methods to stimulate the body’s natural pain-relieving mechanisms. We also offer dry needling to alleviate muscle trigger points to restore function and range of motion.

This safe and effective treatment promotes overall wellbeing and comfort, relieving pain for various acute and chronic conditions, from low back pain to headaches and ankle sprains. If you’re seeking the healing powers of Acupuncture and Dry Needling in Bundaberg, we can help.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape is a flexible tape that is used to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to joints and muscles. This is a method growing in popularity among professional athletes.

The characteristic elasticity of the tape means it can also be used to support or limit particular joint movements. This is a method growing in popularity among professional athletes.

Kinesiology tape can be effectively used to assist in the treatment of many conditions, such as acute and chronic injuries, low back pain and disc injuries, muscle strains and tears, shoulder rotator cuff injuries, shin splints and arthritis.

Jai Schofield has a special interest in this and offers comprehensive biomechanical assessments to evaluate your posture, movement patterns, and muscle imbalances. By analysing your body’s mechanics, Jai can pinpoint areas of concern and develop tailored strategies to address them.

For runners seeking to enhance their performance and minimise the risk of running-related injuries, our Running Assessments are a valuable resource. Jai will assess your gait, stride, and running technique, offering insights and recommendations to help you achieve your running goals safely and efficiently.

Aquatic Physiotherapy

Experience the benefits of aquatic physiotherapy. Our hydrotherapy sessions in the heated pool combine physiotherapy techniques with water-based activity.

The natural buoyancy of water supports body weight and allows for comfortable, low-impact exercise. Heated water promotes blood flow, improves flexibility, and extends joint range of motion while reducing pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Our aquatic physio services can be tailored to your unique needs and preferences, either in an individual or group class setting. You can expect pool-based strengthening programs and low impact exercises for effective rehabilitation and enhanced balance.

Pre-Employment Functional Assessments

We offer Pre-Employment Functional Assessments for new and existing clients. These assessments evaluate physical strength and cardiovascular fitness to determine job suitability.
